Monthly fees are easy to start and hard to stop. LockCAR immobilisers need no subscription: you pay once for the kit and the fitting. LockCAR designs and makes them in Birmingham, and this page shows exactly what one payment covers.

Why subscriptions matter when you choose security. Car security with no subscription
A device that looks cheap up front can cost far more over a few years once a monthly plan is added. If the plan lapses, some services stop working.
Before you buy any security product, ask two questions: what do I pay in year one, and what do I pay every year after that?
LockCAR immobilisers need no subscription. You pay once for the kit, or once for the kit and fitting.
A one-off price is easier to budget for and easier to compare, and it does not change when a contract ends. Security that stops when the payments stop is not much security.
Watch for words like ‘from’ or ‘per month’ next to a low headline price. They often mean the full cost is higher than it first looks.

Fitted prices are shown for the TAG and PIN code versions. For the smart ring or smartwatch fitted by an approved installer, ask us on WhatsApp, and the answer on monthly fees is the same: there are none.
Kits suit drivers who already work with an approved installer. Most drivers book the fitted price.
The table lists the immobiliser on its own. If you also want a dashcam or GPS tracker, the LockCar systems start at £450 with fitting.
If you are comparing with a tracker that charges monthly, remember the two do different jobs: one stops the start, the other finds the car.
What to check in the small print
Ask these five questions of any security product before you buy. Here are our answers.
- Is there a monthly or yearly fee?
- With a LockCAR immobiliser, no. You pay once.
- What stops working if you stop paying?
- Nothing, because there is no plan to stop.
- Is there a minimum term or contract?
- Not for the immobiliser. There is no subscription to sign up to.
- Does the price include fitting?
- Kit prices do not. Fitted prices do: £249 for the TAG and £299 for the PIN code version.
- Who do you call with a question?

Write the answers down for each product you compare. If another supplier answers differently, add up the cost over three years before you decide.

The Plus 4G systems add a 4G dashcam and GPS tracker to the immobiliser, from £499 with fitting. The no-subscription promise covers the immobiliser, so ask us about the 4G systems before you buy.
The 4G systems are a different kind of product, because they add a camera and a tracker. Ask us what is included before you buy, so you can compare them fairly with the immobiliser on its own.
