PIN CAN immobiliser, made in the UK
No PIN, no start. The LockCAR PIN code CAN immobiliser hides in your car’s wiring and keeps the engine blocked until you enter your own sequence on the steering wheel buttons you already have. There is no keypad to find and no LED to spot, and we make it ourselves in the UK.

How a PIN CAN immobiliser works
The module is wired into your car’s CAN bus and hidden behind the trim. It has no keypad and no LEDs, so a thief has nothing to look for. From then on, your sequence decides whether the engine can start.
Pick your sequence
Choose a sequence of buttons already on your steering wheel, such as volume or menu controls. The immobiliser is programmed for your car.
Enter it, then start
Get in, press your sequence and start the car as normal with your key or start button.
Go hands-free if you like
Add the optional Bluetooth proximity TAG and the immobiliser disarms when the TAG is near the car.
Does a PIN immobiliser stop keyless relay theft?
Yes, it stops the car being driven away. A relay box copies the signal between your key and your car, and a cloned key is a copy of that key. Neither one knows your steering wheel sequence. Read more in our guide to how relay attacks steal keyless cars.
What it stops
- Relay attacks on keyless entry and start
- Cloned keys and new keys programmed through the OBD port
- A stolen car key used by someone who doesn’t know your sequence
- Thieves hunting for a keypad or LED to attack: there isn’t one
What it doesn’t do
- Stop a break-in to take things from inside the car
- Stop a car being towed or lifted onto a truck
- Protect a sequence someone has watched you enter, so keep it private
- Track the car: for that, add a GPS tracker

Questions about PIN CAN immobilisers
What is a PIN CAN immobiliser?
A hidden module connected to your car’s CAN bus that keeps the engine blocked until you enter your own sequence on buttons the car already has. Ours uses the steering wheel buttons, so there is no keypad to fit or for a thief to find.
Which buttons can I use for my PIN?
Buttons already on your steering wheel, such as the volume or menu controls. Which ones are available depends on your car, and the immobiliser is programmed for your vehicle when it’s fitted.
Does a PIN immobiliser stop keyless relay theft?
Yes, it stops the car being driven away. A relay box or a cloned key can’t enter your sequence, so the engine stays blocked even if thieves get the doors open.
Can I use it hands-free?
Yes. Add the optional Bluetooth proximity TAG and the immobiliser disarms when the TAG is near the car.
Can I move it to my next car?
Yes. The immobiliser can be reprogrammed for another vehicle. Check the new car in the LockCAR Vehicle CHECK first.
Who makes the LockCAR PIN immobiliser?
We do. LockCAR immobilisers are designed and built in the UK by AZFO Ltd in Birmingham. Read more about LockCAR as a UK CAN immobiliser manufacturer.
Is it Thatcham approved?
Not yet. It is going through Thatcham Security Certification, and we will publish the details when a certificate is issued. Read what Thatcham approval means.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. You pay once for the kit, plus fitting if you book an installer.
