Car immobiliser with fob
No fob, no start. The LockCAR IC3262 car immobiliser with fob hides a small module in your car and keeps the engine blocked until it detects your TAG. Carry the TAG and the car starts as normal. Walk away and it arms itself, so a relayed or cloned key can’t drive your car away.

How a car immobiliser with fob works
The module is wired into your car and hidden behind the trim, so a thief can’t see it or find it quickly. From then on, the TAG decides whether the engine can start.
Walk up with the TAG
Keep the TAG in a pocket, a bag or on your keyring. The module recognises it from up to 5 metres, and you set the exact range between 1 and 5 m.
Start the car as usual
Use your normal key or start button. With the TAG present nothing changes: no code to type and no button to press.
Walk away and it arms
When the TAG leaves range, the system arms automatically. Without the TAG, the engine won’t start, even with the original key.
Does a fob immobiliser stop keyless relay theft?
Yes, it stops the car being driven away. A relay box copies the signal between your car key and your car, and a cloned key is a copy of that key. The IC3262 TAG is a separate credential the car’s own keyless system knows nothing about, so neither trick gets past it. Read more in our guide to how relay attacks steal keyless cars.
What it stops
- Relay attacks on keyless entry and start
- Cloned or newly programmed keys made through the OBD port
- A stolen car key used without the TAG
- Someone starting the car while you’re away from it
What it doesn’t do
- Stop a break-in to take things from inside the car
- Stop a car being towed or lifted onto a truck
- Help if the TAG and the key are stolen together, so keep them apart
- Track the car: for that, add a GPS tracker

Get the most from your fob immobiliser
Four simple habits that make any fob immobiliser harder to beat.
- Keep the TAG apart from your car keyIf both are taken in a burglary, the immobiliser can’t tell the thief from you. A separate drawer or your gym bag is enough.
- Set the range only as wide as you needOne to two metres suits most drivers, and means a TAG inside your house won’t be picked up from the drive.
- Add a second trusted devicePair a smartwatch or smart ring in the app, so a lost TAG never leaves you stranded.
- Tell your insurerGive them the product name and keep your fitting invoice with your policy documents.
Questions about fob immobilisers
How does a car immobiliser with fob work?
A small module hidden in your car’s wiring blocks the engine until it detects your TAG fob. Keep the TAG in a pocket, bag or on a keyring and the car starts as normal. Walk away and the system arms itself. Without the TAG, the engine won’t start, even with the original key.
Does a fob immobiliser stop keyless relay theft?
Yes, it stops the car being driven away. A relay box copies the signal between your car key and the car, but the TAG is a separate credential the car’s keyless system knows nothing about. Thieves may still open the doors, but without your TAG the engine stays blocked.
What happens if I lose the fob?
You can pair a smartwatch or smart ring as a second trusted device in the LockCar app, so a lost TAG doesn’t leave you stranded. If you lose your TAG, contact LockCAR on +44 7300 989091 or WhatsApp and we’ll help you replace it.
Will the IC3262 fit my car?
The IC3262 works on 12 V and 24 V vehicles and connects to the car. Enter your registration in the LockCAR Vehicle CHECK to confirm your car before you order.
Can I fit it myself?
Yes, if you are confident working with vehicle wiring: the kit comes with a quick start guide and an installation manual. Most drivers choose a LockCAR approved installer, who can fit it at your home, at work or at an installation centre.
Is there a monthly subscription?
No. The IC3262 works with no subscription. You pay once for the kit, plus fitting if you book an installer.
Will an immobiliser lower my car insurance?
Some insurers take an aftermarket immobiliser into account, and some ask for one on high-risk models. Tell your insurer which product is fitted and keep your fitting invoice.
