A dashcam shows what happened. An immobiliser stops the car being driven away. LockCAR designs and makes both in the UK and fits them together as one system. Here is how the four LockCar dashcam systems differ, and which one suits your car.

Buying the two separately means two products, two fittings and two places to ask for help. A LockCar system puts them in one box and one appointment.
It also means one installer visit, at your home, at work or at an installation centre.
Think about how you use the car. Long commutes, business mileage and family trips all make a record of the road more useful.
Because the immobiliser is part of every system, the dashcam never comes at the cost of protection against theft.

The jump from the One to the One Plus 4G is £49, and from the Duo RH to the Duo RH Plus 4G is £149. For most drivers, the tracker is the most useful extra for the money.
Each price covers the dashcam, the immobiliser and fitting by an approved installer, so the figure in the table is what you pay for the system.

What a dashcam adds to your security
A dashcam is a witness. It does not stop a theft, but it records what happens on the road, which matters after a crash, a dispute or a claim.
Paired with an immobiliser, it covers two different risks: someone taking the car, and something going wrong while you drive it.
A dashcam helps with

If you already have a dashcam you like, an immobiliser on its own may be all you need. A fitted TAG immobiliser costs £249.
Right-hand drive and left-hand drive
The RH versions are for right-hand drive cars, the standard on UK roads. If you drive a left-hand drive car, ask for the Duo LH or Duo LH Plus. They cost the same as the RH versions.
If you drive an imported car, ask us before you book, so we can confirm the right version.
Questions about dashcam and immobiliser systems
Does the dashcam stop my car being stolen?
No. The immobiliser does that, by keeping the engine blocked. The dashcam records what happens.
What is the difference between One and Duo?
The Duo systems use a dual-camera dashcam. The One systems use a single dashcam.
What does Plus 4G add?
A 4G dashcam and a GPS tracker, on top of the immobiliser.
Is fitting included?
Yes. All four systems are priced with fitting by a LockCAR approved installer.
Can a business use these systems?
Yes. Businesses with 5 or more vehicles can use the LFM Fleet Monitoring Platform, which adds a live camera on vehicles with a compatible LockCAR 4G dashcam system.
Do the systems need my car to be checked first?
Yes, please run the Vehicle CHECK with your registration before you book.
Is a dual-camera dashcam worth the extra?
It depends on what you want on record. The Duo RH costs £100 more than the LockCar One and uses a dual-camera dashcam instead of a single one.
