What a CAN immobiliser (CAN IMMO) does
Modern cars run on a CAN bus, the network their control units use to talk to each other. A CAN immobiliser, often shortened to CAN IMMO, joins that network and keeps the engine blocked until you prove it’s you with something a thief doesn’t have. It doesn’t rely on your car key, so copying the key gets a thief nowhere.
Hidden in the wiring
The module is about the size of a matchbox (48 × 24 × 15 mm on our IC3262 and PIN models) and sits out of sight behind the trim.
You prove it’s you
Carry a TAG fob, wear a smart ring or smartwatch, or enter a sequence on your steering wheel buttons.
No proof, no start
Relayed signals, cloned keys and keys programmed through the OBD port don’t carry your second credential, so the engine stays blocked.
