No radio signal to relay. No fob to clone. Just a sequence only you know, entered on buttons your car already has. This category of security has quietly become one of the most trusted answers to keyless car theft.
The core idea behind a PIN code immobiliser
A PIN code immobiliser asks a completely different question to your factory system. Instead of “did I receive a signal that looks like the right key,” it asks “did the driver do the thing only the real owner would know to do.” That could be a specific button sequence, a paired app, or a proximity device, entirely separate from anything a key fob transmits.
Because there is no radio signal being checked at all, there is nothing for a relay device to intercept or amplify. A perfectly relayed key signal simply has no bearing on whether the PIN condition has been met.
Why it works against attacks a fob-based system cannot stop

How LockCar CAN-IMMO applies the idea
LockCar CAN-IMMO builds on this principle across CAN bus, LIN bus and ADC bus vehicles, with a Bluetooth smartphone app (Android and iPhone) as the primary way to authorise the vehicle. An optional Bluetooth proximity TAG adds automatic hands-free disarming as you approach, so you are not required to interact with anything every time you get in the car, while still keeping the same core idea: no PIN, no start.
A PIN code immobiliser does not have to mean typing a code every single journey. With the optional TAG, LockCar CAN-IMMO recognises you automatically while keeping the underlying protection identical: the vehicle simply will not start for anyone who is not you.
