At the same time, network changes mean some older trackers have simply stopped working. Here are the trends that matter most, and what they mean when you are choosing hardware.

1. 4G is now the baseline

UK mobile networks have switched off 3G, and 2G is being phased out over the coming years. Trackers that relied on older networks can lose connection or stop reporting entirely.
