Message us on WhatsAppCar immobiliser prices in Birmingham, three systems from £99
Most people asking about car immobiliser prices in Birmingham have already decided they want one. What is left is choosing a level. LockCar sells three, at £99, £199 and £299, all fitted at your address by an approved LockCar installer rather than at a workshop. This page explains what each does, and who each one is wrong for.
Nobody is picking your lock any more
A modern car is taken by talking to it. A relayed key signal, a fresh key written through the diagnostic port, or a laptop plugged into the wiring under the dash. All three persuade the factory security that a legitimate key is present, and it believes them.
So the price question is really a question about layers. You are paying for a second block the factory system knows nothing about, which means satisfying the first one gets a thief no further.
What separates the £99 system from the £299 one is how you disarm it every day, and how deeply it ties into the vehicle’s own electronics.
Relay attack
One person holds an amplifier near your hallway, another stands at the car. The car reads the key as present. Doors open, engine starts, nothing broken.
Key cloning
A device at the diagnostic port writes a new key in seconds. The car then treats it as genuine, which is exactly the problem.
Wiring access
On many vehicles the security wiring sits behind a trim panel that pops off with a plastic tool, seconds after a door is open.
Five things that cost nothing
Do these first. Some readers will find they are enough, and it is better you know that now than after paying us.
Move your keys away from the front of the house. A relay attack starts at the front door because that is where keys usually sit. A back room, upstairs, or a tin in a kitchen cupboard breaks the range. If you use a signal blocking pouch, test it: key inside, pouch closed, then try the door handle. If the car opens, the pouch is not working.
Put the fob to sleep. Many vehicles let you switch keyless entry off overnight, often a double press of the lock button or a setting in the driver display. Check the handbook. It removes the signal the attack depends on.
Park so the car is awkward to take. On a Birmingham terraced street that means under a working light, near passing traffic, wheels turned into the kerb. On a driveway, nose in, with the second car behind the one worth taking.
Find your diagnostic port and look at it. On most cars it sits under the steering column behind a small flap. That tells you how exposed it is, and whether a lockable cover is sold for your model.
Photograph your V5C and your VIN. Two minutes, and it saves an unpleasant hour later if the worst happens.
If your car is not keyless, lives in a locked garage and is not a model thieves currently want, the free steps may be all you need.
Where the free steps stop working
Every measure above has a failure mode, usually a human one.
Pouches get forgotten
They work when they are used, and stop working the night somebody drops the keys in a coat by the door. A habit that has to be perfect every night is a weak habit.
Steering locks buy minutes
A visible lock does deter, because a thief picks the easier car. It is also cut or levered off by anyone who decides to stay. Not enough on its own for a wanted model.
Alarms and trackers report
An alarm tells you a theft is happening. A tracker helps with what comes after. Neither stops the engine turning over on your driveway, which is the moment that matters.
No security product on this page is a guarantee. A hidden immobiliser is a deterrent and a delay. The aim is a vehicle that is slower, noisier and less predictable to steal than the one parked next to it.
Three ways to block a start
This table compares three approaches to the same job, not one brand against another. Read it before the prices, because the answer usually comes down to how you want to live with it.
| What you are comparing | Wired relay cut | Standalone TAG | CAN bus PIN |

What each one costs, and who it is wrong for
Lowest price first. All three are arranged through LockCar and fitted at your address by an approved installer. Send your registration before you buy and we will tell you which ones your vehicle supports, because on some models that is only one of them.
LockCar i124
The cheapest way into the range. A wired module with a 20 Amp relay that breaks a high current circuit on command.
- 20 Amp relay, suits high current circuits
- Wired analogue and digital connection
- Motion sensor and anti-hijack function
- 12V and 24V, universal fitment
- Module measures 44 x 33 x 23mm, easy to conceal
- Runs as part of a LockCar system with the control unit
- Product page lists a 2 year warranty
Skip it if you want one box that works on its own with its own tag and app on day one. That is the £199 unit.

LockCar IC3262 TAG
A complete hidden immobiliser you disarm by carrying a wireless TAG. Nothing to type, nothing on the dashboard.
- 1 LockCar TAG ID fob included
- Detection range configurable from 1 to 5 metres
- Trust device support, such as a smart watch or smart ring
- LockCar app over local Wi-Fi
- Motion sensor and driver presence detection
- Anti-hijack and valet mode
- 12V and 24V, universal fitment, 12 month warranty
Skip it if you refuse to carry another fob. Losing the TAG is the one thing that turns a quiet system into a phone call.

LockCar CAN-IMMO
No code, no start. The module talks to the vehicle’s own data network, and the whole thing hides in a space the size of a matchbox.
- CAN bus, LIN bus and ADC bus PIN immobiliser
- Smartphone app for Android and iPhone over Bluetooth
- Optional Bluetooth proximity tag for hands free disarming
- Shock sensor and alarm input
- Hidden module, no LEDs, no keypad
- Service and valet mode, anti-hijack
- Vehicle specific programming, reprogrammable, 12 month warranty
Skip it if your vehicle is older and has no supported data bus. Send the registration first and we will check.
View the CAN-IMMONone of the three includes GPS tracking, 4G or a camera. They are immobilisers. If you want tracking and live camera view in the same unit, look at the 4G camera range instead, or ask us about the One Plus.
The full range, with manuals and specifications, sits in the LockCar immobiliser catalogue. If you are still weighing up types rather than prices, start with the guide to choosing a car immobiliser, and for the fitting service itself see car immobiliser fitting in Birmingham.
Fitted at your door by an approved installer
You do not bring the car anywhere. All three are installed at your home or workplace by an installer from the approved LockCar network, working to the wiring guide for your vehicle. No workshop to drive to, and no overnight stay somewhere you cannot see the car.
Send the registration
WhatsApp your reg, your postcode and a rough idea of when suits. That is enough for us to check what the vehicle supports.
We tell you which levels fit
Sometimes all three work and it is a budget decision. Sometimes only one does, and we will say so rather than sell you the dearer box.
An approved installer comes to you
Home, work, or anywhere in the area you can leave the car parked legally and safely for the session. Both keys ready, and a battery that is not already on its last legs.
Concealed, paired and tested
The module goes out of sight inside the loom. Wiring is routed so nothing is visible with the trim back on, and every factory function is tested before the installer leaves.
You keep the installer’s number
If the TAG stops responding, you change vehicle, or you need valet mode explaining a second time, you call the person who did the work.
Not sure which of the three your vehicle takes? Run the registration through the LockCar vehicle check before you enquire.
Birmingham, and everything around it
The installer network covers the whole B postcode area and the boroughs around it, at the same prices, with no call-out charge for distance.
Birmingham
City Centre, Jewellery Quarter, Edgbaston, Moseley, Harborne, Kings Heath, Selly Oak, Bournville, Northfield, Erdington, Aston, Handsworth, Yardley, Sheldon and Great Barr.
North and east
Work in Sutton Coldfield is mostly driveway fitting on quieter roads, the easiest kind. Mere Green, Four Oaks, Walmley, Castle Bromwich, Solihull, Shirley and Knowle are covered on the same terms.
Black Country and beyond
Vans are a large share of what we fit in Walsall and West Bromwich. Wolverhampton, Dudley, Halesowen, Stourbridge, Coventry, Tamworth and Redditch are in the network too.
Who you are dealing with
You are letting somebody take your dashboard apart on your own driveway. Fair to want to know who that is first.

Frequently asked questions
What are the current car immobiliser prices in Birmingham?
LockCar sells three: the i124 at £99, the IC3262 TAG at £199 and the CAN-IMMO at £299. Those are the current prices on the product pages, and all three are arranged with fitting at your address through the approved installer network. Send your registration and we will confirm the total for your vehicle before you pay anything.
Which immobiliser should I buy?
Most people protecting a keyless car for the first time land on the IC3262 at £199, because carrying a TAG is the easiest habit to keep. Take the CAN-IMMO at £299 if you would rather use a code and a phone app, and the i124 at £99 if you are adding a relay cut to a LockCar setup.
Why is the £99 one so much cheaper?
Because it does less on its own. The i124 is a wired module with a 20 Amp relay that cuts a circuit when the LockCar control unit tells it to. It is not a standalone kit with its own tag and app, which is what £199 buys. Ask us and we will say whether the cheap option is a real option for your vehicle.
Do you come to my house to fit it?
Yes. Every fitting is done at your address by an installer from the approved LockCar network, across all Birmingham B postcodes and the surrounding West Midlands.
How long does the fitting take?
A few hours in most cases, driven mainly by how much trim has to come apart to route wiring out of sight. The CAN-IMMO typically involves about six connections, though that varies by vehicle. You get the expected window when the booking is confirmed, not on the morning.
Do I actually need one?
Not everybody does. If your car is not keyless, lives behind a locked garage door and is not a model in demand, the free steps further up this page may be enough. We would rather say that than take £199 for something you will not benefit from.
Will fitting one affect my manufacturer’s warranty?
Terms differ between manufacturers, so check with your own dealer before you book if the vehicle is still in its warranty period. We will tell you exactly what the installer intends to connect to, which means you can ask them a specific question rather than a vague one.
Does any of them work on a keyless car?
All three do, and keyless vehicles are the ones most worth protecting. A relay attack works by extending a signal your car is already listening for, and a second hidden block sits completely outside that conversation.
What happens when I take the car for a service?
The IC3262 and the CAN-IMMO both have a service and valet mode, so a garage can move and run the car without you handing over your security setup. The installer shows you how to switch it on and off.
What if I lose the TAG, or forget the code?
Keep a spare TAG at home, not on the same keyring as the car key. On the CAN-IMMO you can also disarm through the phone app over Bluetooth, and on the IC3262 a paired trust device such as a smart watch can authorise you.
Can I move it to my next car?
Yes. LockCar units can be reprogrammed for another vehicle. Removal and refitting is charged separately and depends on both cars, so ask when you book and we will price it up front.
Do you fit these to vans, HGVs and motorhomes?
Yes. All three support 12V and 24V installation, which covers cars, vans, HGVs, electric vehicles, motorhomes and plant. Vans are a large share of the work across Walsall, West Bromwich and the industrial estates around Birmingham.
How do I order and book the fitting?
Send your registration and postcode on WhatsApp to 07300 989091, or call the same number. We confirm which of the three levels suits the vehicle, then book an approved installer to come to your address, usually within the same week.
Start with the registration, not the price list
Send your reg and postcode. You get a straight answer on which of the three fits your vehicle, from the people who will fit it.
