Car immobiliser fitting in Solihull
Solihull builds the Range Rover, the Discovery and the Defender at Lode Lane — and those are among the vehicles thieves in the West Midlands work hardest to take. Low recorded crime in B93 does not mean low risk when the cars on your drive are the ones organised gangs are paid to find. We fit hidden immobilisers at your home or workplace, anywhere in the borough.
Vehicle theft in Solihull: the real picture
Solihull genuinely is one of the safer places in the region to own a car. Honest John’s crime mapping recorded the B93 postcode — Knowle, Dorridge, Bentley Heath — as the lowest-offence area in the West Midlands, with just eight recorded offences. If you live here, your odds are better than in most of the region.
But volume of crime and value of target are different things. Across the West Midlands as a whole, the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Vehicle Theft Index 2026 recorded 12,196 vehicle theft offences in 2025, down from 13,375 the year before. Within that total, Land Rover remains one of the highest-risk brands per thousand registered vehicles, even after a 37.6% fall to 483 thefts.
Solihull’s problem is arithmetic. Detached houses, long driveways, keys hanging on a hook two metres from a front door, and one of the highest concentrations of Land Rover and Jaguar ownership in Britain — this is exactly the environment a relay attack was designed for. Thieves do not need to live here. They need to drive here once.

What gets taken around here
Range Rover & Range Rover Sport
Built four miles from Solihull town centre and stolen across the region at one of the highest rates per thousand registered. Relay attack is the standard method: no damage, no noise, gone from the drive in under a minute.
Land Rover Defender & Discovery
High resale value in parts and abroad. Land Rover thefts fell 37.6% across the West Midlands in 2025, which is real progress — but 483 vehicles is still 483 owners who found an empty driveway.
Jaguar
Jaguar theft rose 70% in the West Midlands in the year the PCC reported before the latest index. Solihull and the surrounding villages have a high density of them.
Mitsubishi — the new problem
The sharpest rise in the region. Mitsubishi thefts jumped 64% in 2025, and adjusted for the number registered they became the most at-risk brand in the West Midlands at 27 thefts per 1,000 vehicles. If you own an Outlander or a Shogun, this is now your problem too.
Long driveways
A detached house with the car parked 8–10 metres from the hallway is the ideal relay setup. The amplifier reaches the key through the wall; the accomplice at the car never has to leave the pavement.
The M42 problem
Junctions 4, 5 and 6 put Solihull minutes from the motorway network and from Birmingham Airport. A vehicle taken at 2am can be containerised before you wake up. Recovery odds drop with every mile.
Fitted at your address, not ours
You do not bring the car anywhere. We come to your driveway in Knowle, your office car park in Blythe Valley, or your street in Shirley. Most installations take a few hours depending on the vehicle, and you keep the keys the whole time.
The module goes somewhere different on every vehicle we fit. No LED, no keypad, no standard position a thief can learn. Authorisation is a proximity tag in your pocket or your paired phone — nothing a relay amplifier can reach, because there is no signal from your car key involved.
Before we leave, you get a walkthrough of the system, the PIN backup sequence using your car’s own buttons, and an installation certificate naming the vehicle, the device and the engineer. That certificate is what your insurer will ask for.
Tell us the exact model and year. Some Land Rover model years have specific known theft methods, and the answer changes what we fit and where we hide it. One WhatsApp message gets you the method used on your model, the price, and the next available slot in Solihull.

Solihull questions
Crime is low in Knowle and Dorridge. Do I really need this?
Recorded offence counts in B93 are genuinely among the lowest in the West Midlands. What that number does not capture is target value. Organised vehicle theft is not opportunistic street crime — gangs travel to where the vehicles are, and the vehicles are here. A low-crime postcode full of Range Rovers is a destination, not a safe harbour.
Will it affect my Land Rover warranty or approved-used cover?
A professional, non-invasive installation should not. No critical factory wiring is cut, and the system can be removed and the vehicle returned to standard. If you are inside a manufacturer warranty period, tell us before booking and we will confirm exactly what we will and will not touch, in writing.
My insurer wants a Thatcham-approved system. Does this qualify?
Ask your insurer directly before you buy anything, from us or anyone else. Some insurers accept any professionally fitted and certified aftermarket immobiliser; others specify Thatcham or TASSA. We will tell you honestly what accreditation our system holds so you can check it against your policy rather than find out at claim stage.
Can you fit at Blythe Valley or Birmingham Business Park during the working day?
Yes. Workplace fitting is often easier than home fitting — the car sits still for the whole day anyway. We need access to the vehicle and somewhere to park alongside it. Confirm with your facilities team, then tell us the slot.
I already have a tracker fitted. Is an immobiliser worth adding?
They do opposite jobs. A tracker tells you and the police where a stolen car went. An immobiliser is the reason it did not go. If your Land Rover is taken from a Solihull driveway at 2am and reaches the M42 in four minutes, the tracker becomes a recovery exercise. The immobiliser is what stops the exercise being necessary.
