Mercedes C-Class and E-Class immobiliser UK, KEYLESS-GO protection that works
Mercedes KEYLESS-GO equipped C-Class and E-Class saloons, estates, and coupes are targeted by relay theft gangs across the UK. The KEYLESS-GO system’s passive architecture has the same relay vulnerability as every other passive keyless system on the market. LockCar’s relay break operates independently of KEYLESS-GO and stops attacks before they complete.

The KEYLESS-GO system’s passive architecture has the same relay vulnerability as every other passive keyless system on the market. LockCar’s relay break operates independently of KEYLESS-GO and stops attacks before they complete.
Mercedes KEYLESS-GO and its relay vulnerability
Mercedes KEYLESS-GO was introduced across the Mercedes passenger car range from around 2005, making it one of the longest-established passive keyless systems in the market. Its longevity means that criminal networks have had years to develop specific relay attack configurations targeting KEYLESS-GO’s broadcast characteristics. The C-Class W206 and E-Class W214, introduced in 2021 and 2023 respectively, carry KEYLESS-GO as standard on most trim levels.
The GLC SUV, as Mercedes’s best-selling model, represents the highest-volume KEYLESS-GO target by absolute number. The GLE and GLS are higher-value targets with elevated parts demand. The CLA and CLS sport the same vulnerability profile in a more compact package. Across all these models, the relay attack sequence is identical: amplify the fob, relay to the car, unlock, start, drive away.
Mercedes has developed some countermeasures including the optional KEYLESS-GO Comfort Package on newer models that includes PIN entry on the door handle as a secondary authentication step. This adds meaningful friction to relay attacks but does not eliminate the vulnerability, particularly on vehicles where the PIN has not been set by the owner.
LockCar for Mercedes, precise and invisible protection
LockCar installation on Mercedes models follows Mercedes-specific procedures that avoid interaction with the MBUX infotainment, Me connect app, or any other Mercedes electronic system. The relay break integrates at the start circuit level and is completely invisible to the vehicle’s diagnostic systems. No warning lights, no service messages, no indication to the driver or a Mercedes technician that any modification has been made.
For Mercedes GLC and GLE owners in high-theft postcodes, the LockCar One Plus adds 4G GPS tracking and remote immobilisation to the physical relay break. The Me connect app can continue to operate for its standard functions including remote locking and pre-conditioning. LockCar and Me connect operate as independent layers addressing different aspects of vehicle security.
How LockCar stops this threat
LockCar installs a hardwired relay break in the vehicle start circuit. This break is positioned downstream of the factory immobiliser, the OBD port, and the CAN bus. Even after a successful relay attack or CAN bus injection, the engine will not start because the LockCar relay is open. Closing it requires a second, independent encrypted authentication that relay equipment cannot replicate. LockCar is designed and manufactured in the United Kingdom and installed by mobile engineers at your location.
LockCar recommended products
How long does LockCar installation take?
Installation typically takes 60 to 90 minutes. Our mobile engineer brings all parts and equipment to your location. The system is fully tested before the engineer leaves and you receive documentation on the same day.
Will LockCar interfere with my vehicle factory electronics?
No. LockCar installation uses vehicle-specific wiring procedures and connects at the start circuit in a way that is invisible to the factory CAN bus, ECU, and all other electronic systems. All factory functions continue exactly as before.
Does LockCar cover my area?
LockCar mobile service covers the entire UK. Same-day and next-day appointments are available in most areas. WhatsApp or call Victor to confirm availability and book at your preferred location.
Can I get insurance documentation after fitting LockCar?
Yes. Every LockCar installation comes with a full certificate including device serial number, installation date, vehicle registration, and a technical description of the relay break mechanism. This is accepted by the majority of UK insurers for discount applications.
